I have just heard that we have received confirmation of the licence to use Radnor Park on 9th October. ;D Attached is a poster for you all to pass out to your contacts. Please ensure that this is only displayed where you have permission as there is an anti 'Fly-posting' clause in our licence. Attachments:

And here is a version that prints two up on an A4 sheet so you have A5 posters in case you need a smaller version. We have already been promised promotion on KMFM in the area and the very local Academy FM. Attachments:

I have had confirmation that the event is advertised on the Discover Folkestone & Hythe website the same contact has said it will be advertised in the week preceding the event on KMFM.
I have just had an e-mail from the local editor of the Kentish Express{who did us a great centre page spread last year} asking for my phone number ;D I mean a contact number for the event. And Folkestone Town Centre Management are distributing flyers and posters to shops in the town for us.
So we need a good turn out and pray for fine weather.

OK folks at the risk of being called before the Committee! ;D Can I ask all members attending on Sunday to do two things? 1. Keep a note of how many different kites you fly during the day and pass it to Malcolm or myself before you leave at the end of the day 2. Please give some of your day to helping with the loan kites and teaching people to fly them, as the whole aim of the day is to promote kite flying. We do also need to record each time a kite is loaned out to add to our total of kite flights for the day. Final bit of information the press officer for Shepway District Council is currently working on getting the TV to attend so be prepared for your 15 seconds of fame! Willing volunteers to be interviewed would be welcome. Pray for fine weather

I know KKF members are a tidy lot, but we have to ensure that we keep the area we use free of litter, as best as we are able, not withstanding that it is a public park. I will bring a couple of black sacks on Sunday

Are we going to be selling kites?
Are we able to raise any money for Slide Away?

I would have thought a collection pot for slide away was a must. But as they are a relatively unknown charity, do we have any information leaflets about them?

The International "One Sky One World" organisation was founded in the USA by Jane Parker-Ambrose. Below is a short statement (taken from her site) providing a basic insight into what OSOW is about.
"It is clear that life on the planet earth is at a crossroads. The choice to turn from the path of self destruction from war, and environmental abuse; to love of self, others, and the world is before us. Increasing global awareness will lead to a widespread belief that anything other than peace and mutual concern is insensible, and will move us away from planetary cataclysm toward a better future. One Sky One World festivals will be held annually around the world to promote protection of the planet, peace, friendship and understanding between all people. Beyond this, One Sky One World does not endorse any ideology or political agenda."
"The purpose of One Sky One World, is simply to promote the concept of global harmony and understanding between all peoples of the world through an expression of the universality of kites and the wind. Through sharing the wind, our world wide connection with other flyers and all of nature is symbolically realized. The great air ocean favors no dividing boundaries, ideologies, and human conflict. It is much more the prerequisite for our existence, a catalyst in the chemistry of life, supplying our every breath. The International Kite Fly is an attempt to let the wind lift our kites and our awareness so as to more fully understand the necessity for peace."

I will bring along the collection tin for Slideaway, perhaps when people borrow kites in the event of some-one wishing to make a a donation.

Hi guys...
Regret I'm not going to make it today as have just somehow hurt my ankle and I don't want to make it any worse...
Hope it stops raining and that you have a fantastic day.
I'll do a sattelite version and fly some mini kits off my terrace!

ll raining here in Margate, forecast was that the rain would have passed through during the night. Car is loaded, with club bits and also the odd kite, so will still be heading for Radnor Park and plan to be there around 10am or just after in the hope I can fly some kites on OSOSW
