Hence "a 'Bridge' on Saturday!" Being Kent Kite Flyers we are not allowed to be more specific so I will be attending as a Brighton Kite Flyer/Kiteweekender

Hence "a 'Bridge' on Saturday!" Being Kent Kite Flyers we are not allowed to be more specific so I will be attending as a Brighton Kite Flyer/Kiteweekender Please find below a posting about Teston to clarify:- Just thought you would be interested to know that the following was posted by Jane Gilbert today on the Teston Bridge Facebook page “Is anyone interested in a Picnic at Teston 9th June, bring a kite if you can. Reply if you can come” I know that there are some people putting in place different happenings at Teston over the weekend. If I am right, Jane, was a ranger and instrumental in the kite events over the years. As far as I know she is no longer employed by KCC. All I would request if any of our members go along, that they do not wear club t-shirts etc. This is all a very delicate matter in regard to Teston, and how KCC view various postings made elsewhere, as has been previously posted on the forum,as Kent Kite Flyers cannot be seen to officially support happenings this week-end at Teston Any-one attending will have to park in the main car park and pay the parking fee. At least the weather forecast is reasonable good for to-morrow, which is contrast to The actual event last year where it rained for the two days. Hope that those attending enjoy their picnic. Obviously no special height clearance

There has been no mention of a venue for Sunday and the forecast is looking lousy so it is either button down the hatches or fly local to you.

Just to complete the matter of a certain 'bridge' Country Park: The day started rather gusty but dry. Eighembers of various kite groups attended the picnic and managed to entertain severeral members of the public who had turned up remembering past kiting events. All were saddened to hear that won't

Just to complete the matter of a certain 'bridge' Country Park: The day started rather gusty but dry. Eighembers of various kite groups attended the picnic and managed to entertain severeral members of the public who had turned up remembering past kiting events. All were saddened to hear that August will be the last. The wind died during the course of the afternoon and the rain stayed off resulying in everything from a Rotating Box to paper fighter Kites were flown. The day ended with a small BBQ provided by Allan of 'the Old Gits'. A good day was had by all and everyone there - children, parents, kite flyers, general members of the public and more official people - all suggested they would like to see a more regular event. Kent Kite Flyers.......lets NOT loose this great kiting event!!!!!!

I have not been informed by Kent County Council that this August will be the last Kite Festival at Teston. We do not want to loose it but we are entirely at the mercy of financial constraints on Kent County Council.

Lets hope that it will live longer than this year. I know we all enjoy Teston and i look forward to this one. It is a shame that everything has to come down to finances, I know some other festivals this year are a close run thing as to whether they went ahead or got cancelled. Looks like i will be on my local park for the next couple of weeks, if this weather ever improves?
