We have been invited back to Brogdale to take part in the Cider Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The event runs from 10am to 5pm on 26th and 27th August.
We have been asked to parachute Teddy bears and fly some show kites. I'm currently discussing with Brogdale which field we can use and whether we will be able to camp.

Quick note for those who do not have their own transport but can get to Faversham by train there is normally a free bus service from Faversham Station to Brogdale for this festival.

There is, Steve. The bus starts from Faversham Station at 10am, and runs 4 times an hour (hopefully). The last bus back from Brogdale is at 5pm.

Brogdale have confirmed that we will be able to camp from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. It looks like we will be on the field where we were Teddy parachuting at the Teddy bears picnic.

Just bringing this back to the top.
We are in the field behind the weather station. For those unfamiliar with Brogdale, follow the track beside the miniature railway. The track bears around to the left beside the weather station. After the weathervsrstion turn immediate right, then right again behind the hedgerow. Follow the track dow beside the orchard into the next field which is our site.
The event runs from 10am each day. If arriving late, you may have to park in public parking and walk through.

A slight change of plan. Brogdale have asked that the teddy parachuting happens in the festival meadow (where we used to be). We will be sharing the space with a bouncy castle.
All other kite flying will be in the ornamental orchard (where we parachuted teddies during the teddy bears picnic)

Height clearance of 500 feet has been issued for 10 am to 5pm both days. We probably need some help with teddy parachuting, particularly on Sunday when Bill is not available. I aim to be there both days, but not sure how much heavy lifting I can do following my hospital visit on Tuesday.

This does seem unfairly split re work load ie Teddy Parachuting can get very busy and stressful at times where as Kite flying is at your own leisure, Just saying. ( am not well but will be doing my bit )

Thank you to all who came and helped out over the weekend at Brogdale. A bit of a funny event, being primarily for adults with just a couple of things to keep kids amused. Couple that with being hidden away in corners, its not surprising that we weren't very busy. Hopefully the kites were dried out after a couple of heavy showers on Sunday. Unfortunately we have had no rain at home.

Very enjoyable weekend, tucked far away in the ornamental orchard.Paul,Dick and Steve assisted by Julie and myself, worked very hard to keep kites in the air, despite challenging wind conditions, only to find that the only public that saw thew were the train passengers. It was a little disappointing.
