Ok with people away, holidays, illnesses etc it's that time of year when we are light on the ground. Technically if we were running to the list I drew up we would be at Walmer on the 15th, However Lighthouseleprechaun Janet has requested that we fly there on 22nd as she isn't working that Sunday so we need a location for the next fly-in. We missed out Milton Creek and The Lade last time round. I will leave it up to you suggestions please (not Tonbridge or Palm Bay as we have just flown at both of these locations). UPDATE We have decided that this Sunday we should fly at Milton Creek. Gareth has been in touch with Kris (the ranger) and they would be delighted to see us there. Parking on site through the large gates off Saffron Way (B2005). Postcode ME10 2EX gets you close, what3words nurses.lights.holds should get you to the gate. There are now good toilets on site by the kids play area. Please leave the gates shut after you enter, with any luck Gareth will have unlocked them. Hope to see you there Mike

Martin and I hope to join you at Milton Creek as this will be a first for us. What is the accessibility like for wheelchair users? Many thanks, Jo

When you come into the park, drive through the first tarmac area and through the second set of gates into the park carpark. Please close both sets of gates after you. Where we fly, at the right hand end of the grass is level with the perimeter footpath. The grass is cut short and the ground is pretty even, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Many thanks for this information. Weather permitting we look forward to flying with you. Thanks to the very warm, friendly and informative welcome you have all given us; we have definitely got the bug!! Our kite collection has grown from one apiece to quadruple that in the short time of flying with you!! Every time we order kites itโs like waiting for Christmas when the post arrives lol ! Our grandchildren love their new hobby also and they have been asking questions about the winds, and clouds, and what makes them etc... I did some researching and found a very good website called www.weatherwizkids.com and I wondered if it might be a good link to have on the Kent Kite Fliers site? Cheers for now, Jo

A good afternoon flying at Milton Creek. A good number of club members turned out, and a good crowd gathered to watch or join in. Thanks all who came along and filled the sky with colour. I'll post some pictures on our blog a bit later

What a fabulous afternoon flying kites with good company. We arrived to find Gareth Simon & Len along with Martin & Jo all with kites in the air. Chairs out and time for coffee. Assisted untangling a dragon that proceeded to eat a number of youing cyclists (I told Gareth he should always feed it before taking it out for a fly!). Sat dowm and chatted. Time for lunch! nice packed lunch in the sunshine. By this time we had been joined by Steve P, Malcolm & Matt and we all managed to get something in the air despite some tricky winds at times. Many thanks to all who came along and helped make it a great afternoon and provided some colour in the sky for the appreciative locals. Thanks for weilding the key Gareth and many thanks to Kris for loaning us the country park for the afternoon (could you turn the wind speed down one notch next time please). Mike

Great fly in today at Milton Creek . NIce to meet new members Martin and Jo and Herbie. loved that baby red octopus by the way. Strong winds and welcoming public made one of the best club fly-ins for ages.Great to see so many members present today. Good to see the park busy with the addition of toilet facilities make this a venue to be visited more often for us East Kent Kiters ๐
