We've had a bit of rain....
The forecast remains as earlier with rain between 12.00 and 14.00
I think it will be much like the last fly-in at Tonbridge!!!

Thanks for the updates Gerty. We are going to wait a while before making a decision. Weather here is very similar to yours but it's due to improve. It's not the threat of rain that is putting us off but couple that with extremely blustery winds and it's not very appealing. Will make a final decision at 1.00. Mike

We had a brief shower at about 10am in Maidstone. At the moment, I still plan on going over to Tonbridge but will check in again just before I leave at about 11.30.

Well I’m having a nice afternoon but where’s Peter? Sorry Tim, the wind was too strong and it was raining at 12 noon so I decided not to go. I didn't know you were going to be there or I would've come over.

Just back from a good afternoon flying in Tonbridge. Yes the wind was brisk, sometimes too brisk, and yes we got a shower or two, but we kept kites in the sky throughout, and helped out some newbie kite fliers.
All in all, a pretty good time was had by all. Thanks Gertie for keeping me company.

Sorry guys weather in Faversham once I was free didn't encourage travel anywhere but I took the opportunity to test fly a vintage kite I've been refurbishing on my local rec when the rain stopped.

It's always a difficult decision whether to travel or not if the weather is iffy.
Sometimes you just get lucky and it all turns out good, as it did today at Tonbridge.
We received many appreciative remarks from members of the public, but the pleasure was all ours as we were enjoying ourselves and very much had the entire field to ourselves!!!
It rained a little but the winds soon dried everything off. The wind was very strong at times and challenged our kites to their limits, but that is why we enjoy our hobby as no two days are the same.
Thanks Gareth for a very pleasurable afternoon in your company.
