The suggestion was that we should head for Walmer this coming Sunday (25th April). Weather permitting we will be flying on the beach behind the borrowpit car park on Kingsdown road. Hope to see all who can make it there, socially distanced of course. Mike How about Tonbridge the week after (2nd May) followed by St Mildreds Bay or Palm Bay (9th May)

Should be with you this Sunday, and Tonbridge sounds fine for next.

Hello All, a couple of questions is the fly-in still on tomorrow and secondly, are you land or water based flyers, as I was thinking of coming down?

I'd love to see some of our members getting on the water! Given our average age, we're all distinctly land based although some of us are known to fly power-kites occaisonally. Mostly single-line too for the record.

Walmer weather update. 3 degrees colder than yesterday but sun making an appearance. Wind moderate to strong from north east so thermals of the clothing kind might help. Car park still free and toilets are open.

I am at Walmer and the wind is very strong and I keep getting dust in my eyes, not getting any kites out yet, may have to abandon today, will wait until someone else comes.

I was there from 11:30 until 1:15 the wind was very evil, but did manage to fly my 1.8 radsail. Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

Where were you? Were you flying at the Walmer end? We were at the castle end. So sorry we missed you. Cold and windy day though.

A slow meander through the countryside to get home. As the M20 was still closed I took a detour via Canterbury, then joined the queue that was the M2. Tonbridge next week is a lot easier to get to for some of us.

Tonbridge next week is a lot easier to get to for some of us. I would point out that not all flying sites we use are easy for all of us, for me The lade and Walmer because of the pebble beaches, Tonbridge is at least 70 minutes from Thanet depending on traffic. It is not expected that members can attend every week either through distance, suitably of site, or personal matters.

I was at the Walmer end just up from the sea cafe on the beach. It was fun.
