OK with The Lade ruled out due to temporary danger area imposed due to unmanned drone activity from Lydd airport, we now head eastwards to St Mildreds Bay for our next fly-in by the sunken gardens on The Royal Esplanade, Westbrook, Margate. Hopefully this will suit our East Kent members and is not quite so far to go for the West Kent members as Palm Bay. How about Walmer the following week 25th Oct (Halloween themed perhaps)? Then maybe Radnor Park the week after? Happy to have these ideas challenged but only with a sensible alternative location. Mike

Unfortunately I won't be able to join you this weekend, or on 1st November. As far as I am aware, I should be OK for Walmer though

I'll come and fly with you on Sunday and Ivan and Jacky have said they'll come to Westgate as well. We are happy to leave Thanet and fly with you at Walmer the following Sunday (weather permitting). Radnor Park is a no-no for Ivan so I think we will probably be back at our favourite spot of Palm Bay.

Can I suggest we skip Walmer this weekend. Do Radnor Park instead, then wherever suits everyone the following week and return to Walmer on Sunday 8th November for combined remembrance Sunday/LUTS.
Just a thought.

Having arranged to meet, those who could make it to St Mildreds, at Walmer next Sunday I am rather reluctant to change arrangements now. However I see no reason why we couldn't still meet at Walmer on 8th November for combined Remembrance / LUTS fly-in. We would need to decide where to fly as I believe the borrowpit car park is locked at dusk and Walmer used to hold a remembrance gathering at the bandstand on Remembrance Sunday so we would have to miss that if it's happening this year. In past years we have flown LUTS on a Saturday evening, would that be easier for the few working people amongst us? I suggest we move this discussion to it's own thread in the Members Only section. Mike
