Next Fly-in on Sunday 27th September at Radnor Park Folkestone. There are a tea room and toilets on site and its only a short walk from Folkestone Central Station.
Current forecast is for rain and high winds but there is time for that to change. Keep an eye on the weather reports over the coming week.
There is a weekend road closure on the A259 link road between the A20 and the coast road at Hythe, they are working on the bridge expansion joints over the M20. The works are not affecting the motorway so access to and from Radnor Park are unaffected. However Matrix signs on Sunday said A20 closed at junction with A259 so do not try to use the A20 from Ashford direction towards Folkestone stick to the M20.
Hope to see you all there
Mike
How about Woodchurch Green next week Oct 4th then Tonbridge on the 11th?

Checking the weather app this morning and the rain has disappeared but the wind has increased. Currently forecasting 24 - 38 mph northerly with temperatures of 14 C feeling like 12degrees C. I will check conditions in the morning but if the wind is anything like forecast I will probably be hibernating. Kent Kite Flyers fly for fun and I don't find it fun trying to fly in winds of over 20mph.

I'll check in when I leave church at 11 but if the winds remain as high as is predicted there'll be no point in driving all the way to Folkestone to fly nothing.

Given the wind strength and heavy showers here we have decided to stay at home.

Having taken a look both outside, blowing a hooley and wet, and on the app, rain until 12 then heavy cloud all day with winds gusting into the 40'smph we have also decided to stay home today. Woodchurch next week followed by Tonbridge the week after unless there are any other suggestions Mike

Just started to rain here. Much warmer than yesterday, its hot into double figures already! Blustery high winds. As I wouldn't have got there until late, I've decided not to bother. Stay safe people.
Given the current government guidelines on mingling, etc. Perhaps we should consider whether we continue to meet as a club. I notice kite crevzireland have decided to stop flying until further notice.

Just out of church and the wind is ridiculous. There's no point in me driving all that way to stand in a field on my own and NOT fly a kite. I'll be flying at Palm Bay next week and would travel off island the week after but Tonbridge is too far to travel when I cant set off until 11.30 and then have to pay parking for 2 hours flying on a football pitch!

Well whenever I've gone there I've had to park and pay at the top of the hill and drag everything down to the field, not my idea of fun!
