Next Fly-in at Walmer on the beach behind the Borrowpit car park, near Walmer castle. Current forecast is for rain til 12.00 then ok for the rest of the day with winds 6 - 8 mph NNE. Hope to see you all there. Mike How about a return to Radnor Park the following week Sept 27th?

A quote from the BBC news website
Families stopping to chat in the street would be in breach of the rule-of-six restrictions, the home secretary has said. Priti Patel told the BBC's Today programme that two families of four stopping for a chat on the way to the park would be "absolutely mingling".
We need to be careful not to fall foul of this interpretation.

I hear what you say Gareth and I agree. However, yesterday evening there were over 30 teenagers gathered together in the M.U.P.A. behind my flat drug dealing and kicking up trouble so I phoned the police. The police response was "what do you want us to do?" The police don't care so I doubt that anyone will be upset if we briefly talk to the odd passer by.

Operation stack in place. Apparently 9 mile queue into Dover. If still in force at the weekend it may make getting to Walmer tricky for some.

Does that effect much if you're coming into Walmer the A2 Way?

According to the news there has been counter terrorist activity at the docks and at Eurotunnel today. The activity has now been stood down so hopefully all will be back to normal tomorrow (Friday) and Sunday should be fine.

Keeping fingers crossed here. Will keep an eye open for the news and I guess we must be prepared to relocate if necessary. Please keep watching this thread for any changes. Mike

Lovely morning here in Ashford, just checked the traffic reports and the roads look clear in and around Dover so we should be able to get there ok. Not looked any further afield so can't comment about the rest of the county. Mike.

A very pleasant afternoon flying kites on the beach. Lots of stick kites and several pillowcases too. Lots of public around chatting and complimenting on the kites. And a visit by the constabulary, just checking that we were behaving appropriately. Some pleasant views in the warm sunshine and stiff but steady breeze.

A nice day flying on Walmer Beach. Wind was strong to start with but eased off enough to let us fly all the kites we wanted to. Thanks go to Barry & Janet Arfman, Barbara and Mike Palmer, Tracy & Martin Griggs, Ivan & Jacky Maynard, Lighthouse Janet and Gareth Williams who came and joined me. We spread ourselves out over a wide area and kept to all social distancing regulations; we were even joined by two police officers who were patrolling to ensure there was nothing untoward going on. They complimented us on the efforts we had made and wished us well 🙂
