In keeping with the traditions of an August Bank Holiday the weather forecast isn't looking great for this coming Sunday. At the moment the forecast is for rain til 15.00 with winds gusting to 29mph. There is time for this to change for the better so I will be keeping an eye on it with fingers crossed. Tentatively I have pencilled in a fly-in at Radnor Park for this weekend but it will be weather dependant so watch this space. Mike

If the weather is good enough, I plan on going to Sumners Ponds on Sunday.

Where is Sumners Pond? I can't find it on the list of flying sites.
I probably won't be able to get there, but I'll know for future reference when public transport is back on my OK list.

Radnor Park may be a bit squidgy there was three inches of water on the Station Roundabout at 12:30 yesterday! Don't know how much they've had since.

Squidgy underfoot or not I aim to be there. My weather app says no rain tomorrow although it's showing winds gusting to 31 mph at noon dropping to 19mph gusts later in the afternoon. Hope to see the hardy ones amongst you there if only for a chat. Mike

I'd assume the flooding was blocked drains rather than heavy rain I think.

Well I'm here and its light showers on and off. Mid to fresh breeze with a lumpy gust coming through. The grass is wet but the ground is NOT muddy.

I was the third to arrive as Mike and Barbara were already there! I know, I was lost for words too!! Initially it rained a little, stopped a little then rained a little again but by 1pm it was worth putting some ripstop in the sky. I spent the afternoon drying off the kites that got a soaking on Thursday while Malcolm flew his flowtail (it was good to see you with line in your hands Malcolm) and Mike flew a cody followed by a Brasington Delta. Barbada did a brilliant job as wing man for us and Janet turned up at 2pm for a chat. All in all it was a fun day and YES, I got my kites dry.
