And the Church ladies I seem to remember were rather upset at the KKF having the key to the Community Building to use the Loos.

If it helps at all, the last fly-in I can find at Milton Creek was Kites up the creek on 9th September 2019. I remember we left fairly promptly following Tim I think out of the gate. Others were still on the field when we left. I can find no mention of KKF being there since that date. If you remember it rained hard at the endof the year and we tended to alternate between the beach sites until things dried out, then COVID-19 cancelled 2020. If, as it would seem that we cannot get into Milton Creek, perhaps we should consider flying elsewhere this weekend. St Mildreds perhaps? Mike

I've just been reading through the 'next fly-ins' and 'events' and agree with Mike. The last time we were there seems to be September last year and a note in my diary said we 'entered and left by the Church entrance' so we were not involved with the key. I have keys in three places and three places only - I'm very careful with keys - I've checked all three places and its not there. I can therefore guarantee that I do not and never have had the key so sorry but not my shambles!

It wouldn't have been the event there, because Kris would have unlocked for us. Never mind, but thanks for looking. I'll see if I can procure another key from Kris when he is back from holiday. Meantime, as Mike suggests, we need to fly somewhere else.

The Borrow Pit car park has been completely full during the recent hot weather with car parking spreading to the side roads. It has been so popular an ice cream van is now on site. If the temperature drops by the weekend it might be less busy. We can report on Saturday how things are, but that may be too late for those who like an earlier decision.
St Mildreds Bay. Sellinge and Radnor Park haven't had the pleasure of our company for a while...... places with toilets being preferred by us oldies.

I said a lot earlier where I was going to fly, and why, none of this has changed that. My first choice is Palm Bay. Second choice is St. Mildreds Bay. Third choice is Walmer Beach.
I suggest Radnor Park next week.......doing my best to 'Share the love'.

St Mildreds would suit us this week (toilets in the car park at the bottom of the slope) Radnor park next week (toilets and cafe on site) would be fine with me then we will have to look at Tonbridge for the week after to keep things fair. Mike

Just checked the forecast for Margate on Sunday 18 - 22mph with high probability of rain after noon. I am still happy to give it a go by the sunken gardens off Royal Esplanade Westbrook, Margate in the hope that it's not to windy and the rain doesn't show up. Is anyone going to join me? Mike

Update on Walmer as promised. Despite the strong winds and flurries of rain, at 12.30pm the Borrow Pit was full and cars were packed on the sea front road and side roads.
The Sunken Garden will hopefully be better parking and the winds slightly less powerful than Walmer.
Thanks Mike for info re toilets.

Well 'Kites up' at the Sunken Gardens. Wind is fresh but not too strong, you're missing out Rokbottom, what a difference 35 miles can make.

Yes a lovely afternoon, wind was a bit skittish when Barbara and I arrived. Peter and Gareth had kites in the air and we joined them after a little lunch. Tim joined us a little later and as the breeze settled down we all managed to put some colour in the sky, much to the delight of the locals. Many photos taken and nice comments made. Thanks to all who were there, it was well appreciated. Mike
