I will be taking up Barbara's thought from last week: "we were thinking that as it should have been Walmer Kite Day this weekend it might be nice to cheer the people of Walmer with our kites". I'll be flying my kites near the Borrow Pit at Walmer. Have fun wherever the rest of you choose to fly.

The Borrow Pit car park has re-opened and the toilets are available with lots of covid warning posters on the doors.
Should anyone need to know the fish and chip shop is currently frying from noon to 8pm.

Having totted up the numbers likely to be going, and being over the permitted numbers allowed to gather, and the likelihood of dozens of public not social distancing, I think I will give it a miss. I hope those that go will stay safe and I will catch up with you all soon.
Len.

I hope those that go will stay safe and I will catch up with you all soon. Len. I'll be happy to see friends but I'll be flying on my own. I'll be flying on my personal insurance because club flying has not been approved and club insurance does not cover any flying at the moment. I don't consider the above as breaking any of the current regulations. I've been out flying 2 or 3 times a week since restrictions have been eased and I have not had any problems with "dozens of public not social distancing"; quite the contrary, they have been happy to come up and thank me for sharing my kites with them while always staying a safe distance. I was asked for an address for the Borrow Pit earlier today (Friday), the nearest post code is CT14 7LH.

Looks like being a bit breezy tomorrow afternoon. My app shows winds consistently over 40kph (25mph)
I will consider my position in the morning.

As Winnie the Pooh once hummed (acording to Mr Disney) Oh the wind is lashing lustily And the trees are thrashing thrustily And the leaves are rustling gustily So it's rather safe to say That it seems that it may turn out to be It feels that it will undoubtedly It looks like a rather blustery day! Not sure what I have that will handle the blustery conditions at Walmer but will head that way if only to get some fresh air and excercise. Mike
