I as approached sometime ago about this event, even before Streatham, and I along with the committee, felt it was too far away to make a committment as a club and more appropriate for Brighton Kite Flyers, who I understand are due to attend this event. I now have received the following message and will leave it up to members to decide if they wish to attend as individuals. If you do could you feed back to me if there was sufficient room to fly and also if Brighton Kite Flyers are in attendance. Bernard was due to make contact with me soon after Streatham but had not done so until now. Malcolm You may remember me speaking to you at the Streatham Common Kite Day back on May 12th. I explained about our first ever 'Family Kite Day' at this year's 20th Uckfield Festival in East Sussex. We anticipate that this event is going to grow year on year like several of our other now regular events during our 10 day Festival. If you or any of your colleagues would like to attend, please ring me to reserve a flying space on the field (numbers below). The gates to the field for vehicles will open at 9am. Poster attached or see our online programme at: www.uckfieldfestival.co.ukHope to see you there! Bernard Tagliavini. I have had a further e-mail from Bernard, which says they expect only two Brighton Kite Flyers plus Tom Greenfield, The kite day is from 10am to 3pm. It is a long distance for members to travel from East and Mid Kent.

81 miles and 2 hours drive for me. Not interested on my own but might go if Simon or others are prepared to foray into foreign territory.

Simon, I have no idea of size of the field, that is why I am leaving up to individual members to decide if they wish to go. If so would like feedback, so as we may decide whether we should offer to support in 2020

The website mentions a particular field for kite flying. Looming on Google maps with satellite imagery, I would guess it is 1 to 2 football pit has in size. I might have gone but if it starts at 10am and finishes at 3 that rules it out for me.

How’d the boy racer. (suburu) event go. 😂 Very interesting and enjoyable. I managed to escape without having put down a deposit on a new car, which surprised my wife.
