At the AGM there was discussion how we can get the public involved in kiting and welcoming them along to our fly-ins. What came out of the discussion was that we should agree a venue for the informal fly-in at least two weeks in advance, so if any member of the public is interested in coming along we have at least two weeks of venues already decided in advance.
So as we are attending Kings Wood. Challock this weekend 18th March, On 25th March invited to South Foreland Lighthouse, and 1st April at The Hop Farm, The Next Fly in to be arranged is for 8th April.
There is consideration being made that we look at having venues where we can fly in , say once in every 3 months on the same Sunday if we are not attending events.

Just thinking aloud. This is Easter weekend I think. It is also the first weekend of Berck, and I suspect Peter will be there. Likewise with me going away on the Wednesday, I will probably play safe and stay at home. Lets do Thanet another time.

Do you mean the one opposite what used to be the CU training centre with the big lake right by the main road?. I think it is called Manor Park. If it is the one I'm thinking of, then its a KCC run country park, so like Teston, etc. there is a charge for parking, which distinctly hacks off our members. Especially when somehere like Mote Park is free.
I've thought about flying there before, but never got round to it.
Anyway, I won't be flying on Easter Sunday, cos Gerry is performing with Rock Choir at Leeds Castle. But Bill was talking about possibly flying at Barton Point on Easter Monday. If that's still an option, and if our chairman can figure out how to post on here, I'd be up for that.

Whilst it is a lovely park with really nice facilities, the trees all around it do somewhat filter the wind and eat your kites!

Please excuse my pedantry but do we yet have a definite site for the 8th April or are we going for the Bank Holiday Monday suggestion?

Eh!, now I am confused. Are we proposing flying on Sunday AND Monday? Singleton Ashford on Sunday, Loos and Caf'e. Barton Point on Monday, Loos and Caf'e.

Well I won't be flying on Sunday as I have a commitment at Leeds Castle, and I know Bill is going to Santa Pod. Weather permitting, I'll do Barton Poiint on Monday if anyone fancies joining me.

It would seem that we have a split about when and where
So let's try to narrow it down:
Is it Singleton Environmental Centre Ashford on Sunday 8th and
Barton Point, Isle of Sheppey on Monday 9th.
Who is going to either or going to both
