Having discussed the concerns I and others had in regard to the two day event last year: I held a meeting recently with Kristian, the park ranger, and a mutual decision was taken to reduced the festival to a one day event, at the Country Park. Flying will be from 11am to 5pm, with additonal height clearance. Vehicles should be able to park on the flying area. Kristian will be running a children's kite making workshop.

Anyone going to Sittingbourne from the east should try to avoid Brenley corner roundabout as half of it will be closed over the next two weekends. If coming from Thanet I suggest you go all the way through to Stockbury and use the A249 Those from the Dover/Deal area may be best using teh A20/M20 route to the A249

Having read the notice and I stand to be corrected by younger eyes than mine, it would appear that the closures do not cover the date of the above event. Flying day is from 11am to 5pm, height clearance 1000ft, no food traders on site, Asda Supermarket is maximum 10 minutes walk away and Sunday opening hours. We have access with key to toilets in the community centre. Key will be held by Kristian, park ranger, who will leading the kite making workshop on the day. Our vehicles will be able to park on the field, but arrival by 10am is required, as there will be car parking for the public on site. Milton Creek Country Park Grovehurst Road Sittingbourne ME 10 2 DE. Entrance is via Large Green Gates, and not via the carpark situated by the community centre opposite the churchI attach a poster for those members willing to print off and place to advertise the day Kite Flying Day Poster 2019-3.pdf (320.93 KB)
