Stephen,
I think some-one from DDC has seen the posting on the Walmer facebook page, and asked the question of DDC if it is one of their events. I know the clerk at Walmer Parish Council, do not contact DDC and allow an "unoffical" event take place. One or two of the parish councillors also sit on DDC so it could have come from them. Anyway all the paperwork finally done and e-mail by 5pm yesterday, which took me nearly all day except for 3 hours around lunchtime, when I had another appointment.

With Mike and Barbara not being to attend due to Mike's ill health at present time and Peter H in South Africa. Not sure if Gareth will return in time from Scotland, we may be short on numbers. No-one has indicated that they are considering coming along with kites and lights. With the weather forecast for Saturday evening showing temperature around 7c, 15 mph winds from the North, and approx 31per cent chance of rain, I am now putting out for discussion whether we should put off LUTS. Over to members for commenting please

Being on our doorstep we will obviously be there, can fly until dusk but do not have kites with lights so could be ground crew, gofers, or anything else to help.

Well, its looking like a non starter. I don't want to spend hours getting Batteries and lights ready and be on my own.

That is my thinking as well Len, that was why I was seeking who intended to come along, as I thought I would be on my own, and did not fancy being there on my own with the weather forecast. Will await any further comments from members, but would like to decide by end of tomorrow one way or another.

I know it is earlier than I said I would make a decision, but I think that we cannot do KKF and LUTS justice even without the forecasted weather, so unless any-one objects, may I suggest we cancel LUTS, and reconsider if we wish to another go in November or just let it be cancelled for 2018, and discuss further at the AGM
