It would appear that I have not previouslu commenced a post for this year's One Sky One World fly in support of World Peace.
A change in venue for this year, and no additional height clearamnce The new venue will be Tonbridge Park ( formerly known as the Old racecourse). Entrance is from the swimming pool end, has been a free car park in the past on Sundays. Meeting up just in front of the children's play area. From about 11am onwards.
For newer members it is a few hundred yards walk from the car park to the area where we fly, so you will have carry all you need for the day. There is a cafe, at the swimming pool, but normally is very busy.

For our newer members this is one of our favourite sites.
It is very flat and spacious with toilets and a short walk to the High Street where this is a Greggs and all of the usual coffee shops and a few cafes. Sometimes there is even a mobile coffee vendor on site!
The postcode to the car park near the swimming pool is TN9 1HR
I personally try to park in the Bradford St. car park, as I find that easier.
There is also parking in River Lawn off Avebury Avenue from where a river side path takes to you where we normally fly.
You will find us by the children's play area.
Please do take note of the other car parks as sometimes there are football tournaments on the fields and the swimming pool car park gets full, although this is usually only until about 1.00pm.

Just bringing this to the front as it is the next event for KKF although mainly a fly-in, it is an important gesture in the world in which live at the moment to be promoting world peace through kiting.
let us hope the weather is better than Sunday just gone.

Was a variable wind all day Len, and you managed to miss the parking stress earlier in the day due to the rugby tournament!
Was a good day though with many of the club attending and all in good spirit including some of our newer members.
Hope you soon feel better...

Final Count when I left was 72, good effort by those attending, battling light winds and times when there was no wind. Due to the location of site, the loan kites were not available to members of the public. I am not sure if Tonbridge Park is a good site to advertise OSOW, as there were some members of the public stopping and watching, I was notr approached by any-one enquiring as what was happening. Not sure of any other members were approached. I will probably have to pursue with Tonbridge and Malling Council, for 2018, as a semi official event, so as to obtain publicity, which may mean paying them a fee.
Always plenty of space to fly which is good news for KKF members.
A good day, when Peter and I eventually got to the flying area, and good to see the number of members attending
