NATS may have something to say about it Kent having some of the busiest air-space in the country!!! So that is the real reason why Manston was closed to give more air-space to Lydd. Still at Teston we only have to worry about the local helicaopter pilot who ignores CAA notices anyway about kites flying. Perhaps he will take a kite up underneath his 'copter and release at sufficient height to allow it to clear the trees and funny winds around the Country Park, all the while the kite it is tethered to the ground and then it has an edge in getting up further.
