Various garden centres are currently selling Lumineon Durawise LED lights which are designed for outdoor use. Whilst not cheap, they are robust and also have the option to twinkle, flash etc. You can even time them to switch on!!!

Battery operated one presumes ?, or would we have to find an obliging house we could plug in to. ;D Dobbies G/Centre are selling LED sets powered by a Solar Panel and they come on after dark, prices start at around £14.00.

Yep, all battery operated...with either two or three AAA's. Solar power lights are great in the summer months but worse than useless in the Winter...Have them on my terrace at home...with LED's around the edge...Don't work at all at the moment!

Gerty Take a close look at what batteries your solar system uses to storey the power. You may be able to remove them and charge them in doors then put them back out and have light.

No.1 Gadget Shop via Amazon are selling wheel LED lights for cycles with 32 patterns for less than a fiver!!!! HQ kites seem to be marketing them through this outlet as kite lights...
