Does anyone know this park? Was talking to my brother and his wife yesterday, they asked us where we were going to fly and we told them about shortage of flying sites to the north & west of the county. They told us about Camer Park that they used to visit when their children were younger and remember it as a big open space with trees around it. They have not been there for 20 years or so and have no idea of its suitability for kite flying. The park is run by KCC and has free parking, toilets and a cafe. I have never been there but it would seem to be in an area of the county that we are lacking a flying site. Could this have potential? (Have you ever tried to fly there Gerty?) Mike

Looking on the inter Web it looks like there are probably lots of trees and it sounds a bit like a bigger version of Teston. As it is only half an hour from me I'd be willing to take a look at some point.
Get a different perspective - try KAP

Well, I visited Camer Park in very heavy rain today.
Unfortunately it is not really suitable. The open spaces are quite small and the trees very big. A lovely park but not for kites.
A staff member st the school I was visiting suggested Jeskyns Park about 2 miles away.
This park is great, with wide open spaces, free parking, loos and and a cafe.
Just one problem.......there are pylons above!
However, if people are prepared to walk a little way to avoid the overhead lines then this site has a lot of potential.
It is easy to reach from the A2 and the A227.
