As many of you know Martin Corrie was taken ill last year and there was a special One Sky One Martin event last year, as posted earlier on this board.
I have had the following update from Mike Howard of Kiteworld, with whom Martin accompanied to kite festivals assisting with the Kite shop and also helping the public to fly kites just purchased.
"Hi Malcolm, Yes visited Martin last Wednesday, he has lost a lot of weight and is very weak. He has a full time live in carer and his lounge is like a mini hospital with hospital bed etc. He is able to walk with the aid of a walking frame but is loosing the use of one of his legs. He gets bored very quickly and feels frustrated that he can’t do things. That said he is still the same old Martin, he is able to have a conversation and a joke. Very sad to see someone who is only 67 deteriorating the way he is."

I did Email Rob Brixton Photos of One Sky One Martin that I took and was hoping to get some in reply including the group photo of us all, but no luck as yet.
All the best Martin.

Met up with Mark ( do not know his surname) from Suffolk Kite Flyers yesterday at Streatham, he has accompanied Martin Corrie, and Mike Howard in the past. His right hand shakes a great deal.
It was good to see that he had come all the way down to Streatham. I think he may have been supporting Team Spectrum.
Mark informed me that Martin is very ill and weighs only around 6 stone at the moment. Another nice person suffering from incureable disease. Sent our best wishes back to Martin via Mark, whilst also giving our best wishes to Mark.
In the words of dearly departed Ron all we can do is "Share the Love" and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Agree with you absolutely Malcolm. All the awful things seem to happen to the nicest people. Janet

Further update/
I met Mark from Suffolk Kite Flyers and also Essex Kite Group, at Basingstoke on Sunday. He informed me that Martin is now being fed by tube, is hardly able to speak and rarely leaves his bed. Martin is now going downhill quite rapidly. So sad this has happened to active man who has been a great supporter of kite flying

That's so sad....
He did so much for kite flying and was another gentle friendly soul who put in so much work to ensure that people enjoyed the world of kite flying.
He will be missed.

Martin Corrie's funeral is on Friday 11th July at 11.30pm at St Mary's in East Bergholt, the family have asked that if possible to wear something blue or yellow, no flowers but donations to Motor Neurone. Lyn

I'll check the time as on KW forum it is published as 1:30. There is kite flying afterwards at the local cricket club.
I will be attending if anyone wants to join me.
