Proboards version 5 is now available and we are able to upgrade. At some point we will have to I guess, but there are some things I'm not keen on. The Kite Weekenders board has already upgraded if anyone wants to know what it looks like, pop over to kiteweekenders.proboards.comLet me know what you think

In some ways it is not so easy to navigate, like new topics is now only available from the home page. Little things that add up imho

Not yet, though st some point we will be forced to upgrade. In my opinion we should wait until some of the issues get fixed or we are forced but that's just me

Hi Gareth. I will go a long with that, it's not broken. Ern. Ernie is right if there are possible future fixes to be made to the latest version, the we should wait. As there has been little response, I believe that we should take advice from Gareth the best way forward

I noticed Brighton has today been changed and inevitably KKF will be upgraded by Proboards.
I returned from India to find the Weekenders site upgraded by Dave, he and I did have a play testing the new version for a couple of months prior to that but YES it was difficult to navigate at first, but it was a case of 'old dog, new tricks' syndrome and although I am daily learning the new version it does actually function better than the old version but there are huge differences in the way you now post things on the calendar / photos / videos etc. BUT with some practice it will once again be like second nature. I have noticed a decline in members posting on Weekenders, and put that down to their temporarily fumbling around till they find their feet.

The existing log ins will work. But in addition if you subscribe to multiple forums you can group all of your different log ins together so you can log in once then switch forum.

Not even being able to work out how to vote I go along with the suggestion of waiting until teething problems are sorted, but will leave it to Gareth to make the final decision. Janet

Could the poll options be increased to Yes, No, and Fence? As a user, I see no real advantages in the new version; I don't know what is involved for the administrator so my vote would be wait until we are forced to change, by which time the bugs should be removed. Colin.
