Betteshanger Park is now under new ownership. The visitor centre has been finished and is to a very high standard, and it now plays host to the Kent Mining Museum.
The new site manager is keen to reinstate the wind festival, and we are working on the 20th and 21st August as the proposed dates. I am hoping to be able to arrange camping on-site for the weekend. More details to follow as discussions progress.

It was due to the car parking being contracted out to one of the car parking companies and not under the control of Betteshanger

Following a site meeting today, I can confirm the event will go ahead on 20th and 21st August. It will run from 11am to 5pm each day, though we can fly on into the evening if we wish. The site closes at 8pm each evening.
Camping will be available on site, in the amphitheatre. Campers can arrive on Friday afternoon and leave on Monday morning. The toilets will remain unlocked for campers, and there is access to fresh water at the visitor centre.
Access is via the car park. For some reason, I can't attach the map. Drive through the car park to the end of the buildings, then turn right and drive up the slope. KKF will have use of the left hand side of the field, up to the footpath. The part beyond the footpath will be used by Kent Windsurfers.
Height clearance to 500ft has been requested from the CAA. We will be selling kites, flying kites and providing materials for a kite building workshop, which will run for 1 hour each morning and afternoon. We will not be manning the workshop.
I will need vehicle registrations for all attendees to have the parking charges waived.
Any questions, please ask.

Hi Gareth. Recently re- enthused by attending Shropshire kite fest myself Mike and wife Chris would like to attend Betteshanger, ideally staying on-site with our caravan. But travelling down from Northampton it would need to be from Friday night and if poss leaving Mon morn. We do know the place as we were there for the 2019 festival. Do you have any idea when arrangements will be finalised as we would need to book an alternative pitch if on-site doesn't work. Thanks Mike

You can arrive any time from Friday afternoon and need to be away by about 10am, Monday morning. I will need your vehicle registration so I can get the parking fee waived. Drop it yo me in a private message is probably best.
