For those who can't make it to Berck this year, and perhaps for those who can, here's a video of Red Bull Kite Force performing at last years festival. Just a reminder or taster. I think they were probably one of the best teams on show.

They really are the best...but they eat cheap! We shared some space in a tiny back street restaurant with them last year........ With such a polished performance I would guess that they are working 365 days a year on getting it that good? So no day jobs?

Further to other postings about the offer of taking peeps with me to Berck for the day...Saturday 14th is no longer an option as there are no return train or ferry places. Am probably going to go for a Sunday booking instead, but the traffic out of Berck is diabolical on this day, so we will be leaving late to avoid it.

Looks very windy and the sea looks pretty rough. Let's hope it improves before Wednesday!!!!

the wind certainly seems to be "up" in Berck, but there are some nice kites to see by the loops of things

Wonderbubble.......Now I'm going to be thoroughly miserable for the rest of the week! Looks like there are some new/returning teams this year and that it is starting to grow again. Thanks Gareth

After day one of competition in the world championships, its looking good for the scratch bunnies. The three leading teams seen to be pulling away from the pack.

Good to hear...... Any chance of a link to the live webcam of the beach here...? Am no good at these technical fings..... Then, can we agree on a live link with all of you waving at us from the corner of the marquee at say, 4.00pm on Saturday? Or may be on Sunday so I can join in?

If anyone is thinking of coming with me.......
Hate to tell you....
4.00am ferry as no return bookings available on the train. 12.35 pm (French time) return
Yes, I am debating whether it is worth it.... Will decide in the morning after recovering from a very busy week at work.....

Sadly, with a very heavy heart, I've decided not to risk a 26 hour day, and will not be making what has become a much anticipated annual visit to Berck for the past ten years. I hope that those who have made it have had a good, if cold, time, as it really is a very special event. I will be watching the son et lumier on the webcam tonight.
