Weather looks OK. Any suggestions anyone as to a venue? I know Simon will be away.
Bear in mind that we are in Palm Bay on 26th and Walmer on 8th June, so perhaps we should be mid/west Kent again this weekend?

Perhaps Woodchurch, if no cricket matches on Len?

Len is checking out with the cricket club if there are any matches this Sunday and also the fixtures for the season at Woodchurch. Other suggestions are Sellindge Sports and Social club, but would have to confirm with stewards if ok, and there is Radnor Park Folkestone, with parking in the roads which has public toilets and about two years ago a newly opened cafe.

I'm not sure the cricket club exists anymore. Their website shows no fixtures, and the Kent Community Cricket website shows Woodchurch CC as "the club listing is not active anymore"

Well it seems that people are not prepared to wait and find out if it is ok to fly at Woodchurch, Since the Committee Meeting on Wednesday I have been in contact with the Cricket club and yes they have folded due to lack of Players and they suggested I contact Julian the Parish Council Chairman, As yet I have had no reply, so there you have it. I will be at a Regatta anyway.

Len,
we have to make decisions where to fly and try to not to make them last minute. I understood from you that the cricket club had folded, but I do not remember seeking permission previously the Parish Council. When I approached the Parish Council some years ago about flying regular on the Green, the then parish clerk wished me to jump through so many hoops, and I think may requested a fee( cannot be sure about that); I decided I was not going to give the time and energy to it. We seemed to have flown on Woodchurch since without any problems, and without comments from the Parish Council, who must have been aware of our prescence.

It is looking doubtful that I will be coming over to have a fly at Woodchurch, too much to do at home, after a day out at Collier Street School yesterday.

I will venture out this afternoon and throw a kite up at Woodchurch.

Typically challenging conditions at Woodchurch. One minute there is breeze, the next your kite is overpowered, then falls from the sky as it fades to nothing. I think our illustrious chairman refers to it as a "piss takers wind", and he's not wrong. But everyone managed to fly at least one kite, and Barry even managed to feed a kite eating tree.
