It is a cold, damp, still and generally miserable start to the day in Maidstone. Is any planning to go to Sittingbourne?

We were going to go but you are not doing a very good job of selling the idea. I suspect Simon is already on his way and hasn't read your post. Slight movement of things in the garden here in Ashford and not to miserable, would happily go but don't want to be the only ones there.

Kites were ready, but I awoke with the start of a Migraine, very miserable here in Ashford so I am staying put.

Just started raining here in Kennington, still preparing to go but are conditions in Sittingbourne bad enough to make it not worthwhile making the trip?

According to Simon's weather app the rain should clear at about 1.30.

Came out of Church to torrential rain in Faversham! As I was only coming over to meet folk and not fly I drove home didn't thing standing in the rain would be any good to bringing my leg back into working order!

Well it was worth the drive to Sittingbourne. Despite the not so clement weather we enjoyed the company and all 6 of us managed to get at least one kite in the air. Simon, the weatherman, kept us all informed and his wind predictions were almost correct. There was a nice breeze towards the end of the day. However his "It's stopped raining" needs a little more work. Good to see Martin getting some practice in (the higher you fly the more line you have to wind in!) those kites will fly better in a little more consistent wind. Simon (the weatherman), Martin G (this kite will fly!), Peter (the patient teacher), Gareth (ace kitebuilder), Barbara (upside down nosed Grace flyer) and myself had an interesting afternoon at a very overcast and slightly miserable Milton Creek Country Park. Hoping for better conditions at Brogdale for Hanami next week. Mike

In spite of heavy rain when I arrived at 12.20 Gareth, Simon and myself stuck it out and soon it turned into drizzle then stopped. We were joined by Martin and then Mike and Barbara to complete our little six-some. Simon was the first to get a bird kite in the air closely followed by me with my Louise. Unfortunately the breeze dropped away so the Grace's, Rollers and Pheonix's came out. By 3 pm there was a nice light breeze. I remembered my miniature 1901 Cody War kite and gave that a turn while Gareth gave his new Enigma its first outing. Martin flew two of his auction prizes namely a nice hex and a pilot they flew well and completed a pleasant afternoon with friends. Thank you everyone for being there.

Note to self-make sure to wear waterproof boots next time it rains-my shoes and socks were soaked!!! Still didn't stop me enjoying good company, thanks everyone.
