I have just had an enquiry in regard to the above event. I am putting it out to find if kite flyers and especially Kent Kite Flyers are interested to undertaking this event. It would mean that we have Teston the following weekend and the Sunday afterwards 18th we have been booked to attend Betteshanger ( one of our regular events).
I intend meeting with the contact to find out more, but will not commit KKF to the event unless there is a positive reply from members

Need more I formation before I'm going to commit to anything. I am taking Peter H with me to a meeting on Friday 1st March at 11am, so will find out more and then post on thus thread After Peter and I visited this morning and met with Dover Harbour Board Events Co-ordinator, this is a no go event for Kent Kent Flyers, due to the whole day being taken up with events and traders. There would be no room for vehicles to be close to any flying area. We may be providing a kite making workshop, but this will have to be staffed by volunteers from Dover Harbour Board with KKF overseeing. However Kent Kite Flyers may be invited to an event celebrating the opening of the new public pier, no date has been set for the opening at this time. The area for flying is a beach area within the harbour site, which would be closed off to the public. If invited and date is suitable, further discussion will have to take place.
