Third visit to the local junior/primary school in Collier Street.
Kite making workshop for about 50 children, plus flying on local recreation ground, as in the past. Will need some assistance in running the workshop, hopefully as in the past we shall have groups of 5 children with some parents. Start time for workshop is 12 noon, coffee/tea provided on arrival with free hotdog.

Is the flying just for the kites made by the children?

Is the flying just for the kites made by the children? In the past we have made use of the field to fly our own kites, obviously the children will be out flying the ones that are made in the workshop and we should assist those that are having any difficulty in flying.

The address of the school is as follows:-
St Margaret's Collier Street Primary School Collier Street Marden Tonbridge TN12 9RR
If any-one is able to assist please let me know. There should be two sessions 12pm-1pm for approx 30 children and 1pm -2pm for appox 20 children.
Plus responsible adults.
Afterwards there is the local recreation ground on which we mah have a fly. Parking for the workshop is to the rear of the school, but will have to move to recreation ground afterwards.

A succesful return to Collier Street, Thirty six children attended with "responsible" adults. Split into two sessions. School grounds have been extended , so some of the children flew the kites in the school grounds. The team of Peter and Stephen P, along with me were kept going by supplies of coffee as well as burgers and sausages in a bun.
It was judged to be a succcessful workshop assisting raising funds to the PTA especially to improve and fence off the newly acquired ground.
After the workshop, we went to the recreation ground where both Stephen and Peter endeavour to fly light wind kites in virtually no wind, whilst some of the children ran around with the kites. We were visited by a photographer from Kent Messenger, who took a few photos, whether they are publised or not id another matter.
Without the assistance of Peter and Stephen, I would have difficulty had coping with the workshop, so my heartfelt thanks to both of them.

Well done to all of you. Glad the day was successful. I would have loved to have joined you all, but currently my health situation makes it more difficult.
