I think the weather has truly beaten us this time... A real shame... Thank you to those who were going to support though

SHAME I did not read posts after I had posted because I went down to the Lade . Sunny Dry and Wind, not surprised to find myself alone, I wandered to the end of the Boardwalk to observe the 2 Minutes silence, still no Flyers so I went for a walk along the Beach, bad move as a sudden squall caught me out and a soggy me returned to the car and drove home. strange as some Roads were bone dry and the Sun shone. Oh well that's another fine mess ………………………………
Len.

If the weather at the Lade was anything like at Maidstone we could have had a good fly. I guess the moral is that we shouldn't judge conditions too soon and certainly don't rely on weather forecasters.

I guess the moral is that we shouldn't judge conditions too soon and certainly don't rely on weather forecasters. It is the third time in the last month or so, the weather at venues for specific themes has been completely different to the forecasters, does not matter who they are, but as there are normally members coming from distance to most to the venues, it is better sometimes to cancel early than having members travelling long distances and not being able to fly.

The weather forecasters got it right for Deal - strong winds and rain almost all day. Still raining as I type this

Ive just found this thread having been disappointed that no-one appeared to want to fly on 11th........why don't these 'next fly-in' posts get posted under 'NEXT FLY-IN' then we would all know where to look and what's going on!

Peter at times this are placed in the wrong page, as members feel it is an event, but just to re-iterate to all, only events approved by the committee or festivals when we are invited or are notified about, such as Basingstoke and Brighton, are to be placed in the events page. All other fly-ins whether specific such as the The Rememberance Fly should be place in next fly-in page. Peter I always check through the forum postings for any new postings come up on my log-in and home page, just in case there is a wrong placementof thread or post.

Go to Home Page then scroll down to latest Threads. Nearly at the bottom of the Page. It then gives a list of recent Posts.

Yep, I see that Len but it would be a lot easier if members who post put their post under the relevant category in the first place rather than making it the responsibility of other members who might be interested to hunt the message out.
