In reality Saturday is unflyable if the weather forecast is correct and Sunday is only slightly better. If there is only the four of us I agree it does not seem worth it.

After much discussion see previous posts, I have taken the decision to cancel LUTS on Saturday 27th October on The Green at Walmer. Due to having to complete forms for Dover District Council, cannot move to the Sunday. As preciously stated I will leave it up to members if they wish to attempt to undertake LUTS later in November, but cannot be as such as an event at Walmer due toe DDC as mentioned.
Stephen P can you please post on facebook pages etc and any-one wlse you have cotacted, that Saturday is cancelled due to the expected weather forecast of gusts up to 31 mph from the North, rain and 7c. ( leave it up to you how to word it ) I will contact DDC and clerk to Walmer Parish Council

Yes, well its not them that stand out in the cold holding a bit of string with an expensive kite on the end. From various comments made at events where we are flying, the public are unaware of how much kites cost and how easily it is to damage one in the wrong weather conditions; but I think it is nice that the public are sad that we cannot be there, they are the people who contribute to the donations received. We would probably not been able to put on a decent LUTS due to the absence of so many members for various reasons, so bad weather has been also a saviour for KKF's reputation.

It has been ironic that, due to shortage of available members, the event was cancelled, when the weather here yesterday was perfect for flying. Forecasters wrong until 10.30pm when a downpour, strong winds and thunder and lightning arrived.
Fish and chip shop sad but hope we may make it next month.

Somehow by mid-afternoon yesterday, I had a gut feeling about the weather forecast, but also happy with the earl;ier decision made as we would have had possibly only three of KKF members flying, which would have been a disappointing display. As per previously posted if members wishe to have another attempt at a later date and for it to be at Walmer, I need to know a couple of weeks ahead, so as I can comply with DDC requirements.
