This will be as above and will be held at Capstone Country Park, Capstone Road,Chatham, Kent ME7 3JG. Entrance just pass the ski centre entrance. The event is from 11am to 4pm and height clearance has been applied for 1000ft.
As usual for those who wish to have their vehicles on the field, these will have to be in place by 10.00 am latest please use 4 ways whilst traversing the field.
There will be a separate area for invited kite clubs and members to park vehicles next to the flying area.
I hold vehicle numbers from those attending last year, and if you have changed your vehicle or may think, I do not hold it please p.m. me.
Gareth I do not know the reg of your new car.
I am requesting the information earlier than normal, as I will be in the KKF touring party which will be in Dieppe, and wish to start the process now of checking/obtaing veh registration numbers, so as I may send it to the relevant organiser, Vehicle numbers are supposed to be checked through the gate. There will be only my vehicle allowed to park by our gazebo, as KKF have been requested to obtain kites for resale to the public.
22nd September 2018 "I HAVE RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL IN THE LAST HALF AN HOUR FROM MEDWAY COUNCIL CANCELLING THIS EVENT DUE TO WEATHER AND SAFETY CONCERS FOR FOR THE PUBLIC"

The official address is Chatham, but some people know the area as being in GIllingham, anyway there is only one Capstone Park in the Medway Towns. Thanks for sharing the wind forecasts, so far in the last five days I have seen 5 plus different forecasts for Sunday, We do not want strong winds and heavy rain, especially as I do not want to be flying the club gazebo; but as kiteflyers, we always come prepare for all conditions

For all those who are intending to come along next Sunday and have let me know their vehicle registarion numbers, these have been forwarded to the event organiser. As you come up to the flying field at the top back part of Capstone Park, you should be issued with a pass to put in your windscreen. Please park on the far side of the marked off area, no doubt this may alter on the day depending on the wind direction. WE have been requested to be in place no later than 10am. The only vehicle allowed to stay up with the gazebo will be my own. If you wish to drop anything off such as chairs please do so. You will be be able to get onto the field up to 10.30am, but for ths ake of good relations please try to be in place by 10am. Please drive at 5-10mph with 4 ways and headlights on, there will be general public wandering around. At 4pm the festival is due to end, and the marked field is takeb very shortly afterwards, as well as the toilet block being locked around the same time. Height clearnace of 1000ft from CAA.
Hoping for better winds than in the forecast from Len

Really?
Not sure I have anything in my collection that will handle winds like that.

I have grave concerns about Sunday and the predicted weather/winds. I will be contacting the event organiser later to-day, but obviously they will continue to monitor trhe situation. The weather forecast earlier in the week was lessening of winds and sunny periods. Will keep members updated. I am certainly not putting up the gazebo in the winds as predicated in Mike's post.

My post was from Metcheck that this morning was predicting wind gusts on Sunday of up to 67 mph with rain all day. The Met Office however at midday is forecasting winds of 20 gusting to 38mph, which I feel is still a little to high to sensibly fly in, with rain til 4.00pm. There is still time for the forecast to change so will be checking over the next couple of days. Mike
