We went down to the lade today, was a sign to say that from 1st June it will become a pay and display car park.Charges will apply 8am to 6pm 7 days a week,£1.20 per hour,6 hours plus £8.Think that is the end of that flying site.

Ouch.
I suppose it was too good to last. Great shame though. Does that make it more expensive than Camber?

No Camber is more expensive, we think it is £1.50 per hr, 6hrs £10.00 all day £12.00. When we go, we park on road by playground and walk through to beach, or park along Jurys Gap, but that means a walk to toilets in main car park.I also understand that a car reg number camera is going to be installed , so be warned if you drive in it will still record your car.

Re Lade, cant we park in near by Roads. Len. You used to be able to but I've just checked on Google street view and the double yellows go a long way up Taylor Road and Wiliamson Road and single yellow all the way down the coast operates over the summer. There is an old car park opposite Romney Sands Holiday Park which is now blocked but the operators may allow us to use it as it adds interest to their site.

Steve P What are the yellow line restrictions on Coast drive and The Parade. I cannot find any mention of them online. Looking on Streetview there are double yellow lines on the landward side of the road and a single solid white line on the seaward side. According to the Highway code the solid white line marks the edge of the carriageway and has no relevence to parking. There isn't a single yellow line in sight. When we were pushed out by the wind surfers last year everyone was parking on the road. Illegally? The signage by the double yellows on the landward side of the road reads at any time 1 April 30 Sept does that mean that the double yellows only operate during summer months? There is no signage on the seaward side of the road Mike

Might need a site visit to check.

There is plenty of parking along Williamson Road area. Also, I live at No4 and can park about 3 cars on my off road if you let me know in advance.

That's very kind of you. We checked the white line rules on the sea side of Beach Road yesterday and see parking is prohibited there from April 1 to Sept 30.
