Just to put things right here...
I didn't take exception to anything, just pointed out a fact.
The comment about time travelling was merely demonstrating that if the Lade was in West Kent, then it should not take us from the area over an hour to get there!
Still, it got people talking, I suppose...

Thank God we're not Midland Kite Flyers! Imagine the arguments they must have

How true Gareth. We none of us seem to know regional Kent very well. According to KKCs regional electoral definitions the following is true.
There are four regions in Kent; East Kent, West Kent, Thames Gateway and Central Kent. There is no such region as South Kent or North Kent. Maidstone is not West Kent, it's central Kent. The Lade is not South Kent, its East Kent. Ashford is not East Kent, its Central Kent.

As Gerty said, if the Lade was in West Kent it would not take so long to get to. However being in East Kent it's much quicker for us to get to......oh, wait a minute, its as far for us and takes just as long! Just goes to show, you never can tell.

Enough of the discussion about where The Lade is situated, no-one has suggested any where else for any fly-in venue for this coming Sunday, so will post it as The Lade, and hope all those who are not close to it will go and check out the compass reading.
The Lade from about 12 noon on Sunday 8th April

Well said Malcolm,I am fed up with reading all this about where the Lade is.For us wherever kkf flies is is usually quite a distance, the exception is Wood church. It is purely optional if you want to travel and fly. Sue

I entirely agree Sue, we do have members who have well over an hour to travel to the majority of venues when ever KKf are flying, The committee thanks you for your committment to KKF

This clashes with a Regatta so I will not be coming, so don't expect any Kites.
I am planning on taking all of CCs Kites to Brogdale the following Saturday ( nearly wrote Sunday ) so you may want to add an extra one to you Bag.

Dry here but no wind so unlikely we will make the journey. It's a pity because, being decrepit, the Lade with ease of parking and flying suits us perfectly.

Seeing as no one else seems to be going, we will find another way of entertaining ourselves today. Hope to see you all on a flying field sometime soon. Mike

That's a shame, was just about to leave.
Wouldn't have been much fun without the wind though...
Will definitely be at Brogdale next week though....

Well I packed the car early, rushed out of church and hotfooted it to the Lade down in the south of Kent for a club fly-in. I arrived at 12.30 and proceeded to put a kite up. Once I was established I checked my phone only to find the rest of the Kent Kite Flyers had cried off (no wind, too wet etc.) so I spent a couple of hours entertaining the public who were taking the air on a gorgeous spring day. The wind was light, the sun was out and the rain stayed away......it was a Genki, Roller, Ichiban, Dopero etc. type of day; where were you all!
