Peter H has now arranged for the indoor fly-in.
This will be at North School Secondary Modern- sports hall, Essella Road Ashford, TN24 8AL from midday until 4pm. As per previous postings in members section, there are toilet facilities on site, car parking close by, please wear soft shoes or trainers, as it is badminton courts.
Peter has several indoor/light wind kites which he is happy for members to use on the day. Please bring along your own refreshments. We have to be out of the hall by 4pm.
This is a trial fly and if all goes well and the site is suitable then we could possibly use it again during the winter 2018/9 on more than one occassion. The hire of the venue is coming out of club funds as has been agreed by the committee

I was asked which entrance we should use. The entrance is off Essella Road (there is only one entrance off Essella Road). Drive through the main entrance marked with a big board "The North School", drive down the drive, right in front of the school and through the car park to the sports hall at the end. We have the hall from 12 until 4 so come along, blow the dust off your zero wind kites and give it a go. If you don't have one you can borrow one of mine.....see you there on Sunday. Don't forget our clocks go forward on this day so you'll be arriving an hour earlier than you think!😁

Well I counted a few more than 6 flyers this afternoon. Such fun! Many thanks to Peter and anyone else who helped to organise the indoor fly in. Never flown indoors before and it probably showed but we had a good selection of kites, most of which flew allbeit reluctantly in some cases. A great afternoon and an experiance to be repeated I hope. Photos and comments to me please for inclusion in The Windjammer that I hope to be publishing towards the end of the week Mike

Well that was a great time for me indoor flying with club members. I haven't had so much fun for ages. It was lovely to see such a variety of kites and so nice to see how everyone who had a go improved their technique so quickly. Thank you everyone who came along to give their support; let's hope we can do it again one day.

Echoing Mikes comments. A great afternoon flying. I'm too old to be running around with two liners in zero wind, but the zero g worked well once I'd got the hang of it again. Another kite that hasn't seen the light of day for far too long.

Sorry I missed it (was moving "house") and hope that it will be repeated.
I can always get the sports hall at the centre where I run the Shed in T.Wells which is probably only one court shorter.

Good turnout, bodes well for having indoor flying during the next winter.
