I have had an enquiry from the recently arrived new events organiser for Dreamland Amusement Park on Margate in regard to Kent Kite Flyers flying at rear of the site. My initial look and meeting, gave me some idea that it could be feasible amd suitable. I will be going along in January to have another look at the proposed area, when some of the installations for the Winter festival have been moved. Would any members be interested iun attending, so as I have an idea that members wish me to pursue this possible event.

I am reveiwing the site again on Thursday 11 Th January along with Peter H, to make a decision if it is a viable flying site as the marquee on the site should be down and gone. I am being pushed to agree dates of 1st April and 8th April. As in the past I have put out to members for new events to find out who may be available. I would just request a reply as to who may be available if it goes ahead, please indicate if you can do both dates or if only one which one.
Dreamland need a quick answer if we go ahead, so as to put out in their printed event information, Thank you for answering in advance

Peter Hulcoop and I visited Dreamland Margate, this morning, in which Peter undertook a test fly. This is a suitable site and we have agreed to go ahead with attending on 1st April and 8th April. Those attending will be allowed to bring cars onto site. Unfortunately as there is astroturf and gravel paths in the area which we have requested to be set aside, NO ANCHORS or STAKES must be used. Dreamland have agreed to provide anchoring points for both inflatbles and single line kites. The area although reasonable size, does have its limitations as to how many inflatables could be in the air at the same time. Peter's judgement is that it will be better with midi size or smaller inflatables.
There are two themes April 1st The Sea and April 8th Farmyard, but we will not be able to put out ground laundry.
We do not have to follow the themes as the events organiser would just prefer us to fly whatever kites suits the conditions on the day.
There is still plenty of work and negotiation to be finalise these two days, but would request those who have already responded to confirm the dates in their diaries, as well as any-one who may be interested in also coming along.
It is expected that we shall be able to come in through back entrance to set up for a 11am start. We are also discussing how late any-one may be able to obtain entry.

Should be OK for both dates. Can probably keep within the themes too.
Will need details of entrance/exit and timings nearer the time, and such mundane matters as whether we need to bring food or will there be traders on site.
