I have been to a meeting today (Thursday) with the events manager for the park formerly known as Fowlmead, and we have been invited to attend their Wind Event, withn the KIteflying being the main attraction.
There will free parking and kiteflyers vehicles will be allowed to park adjacent to the flying area. There will be portable toilets and catering facilities set up close to the flying area. The area is at the highest point of the park and measures approx 150 metres in length and approx 60-70 metres wide.
There is a wish for this be an annual event. Please put the date in your diaries.

Reminder of this next event for KKF, Just to state I have made another visit to the Country Park, and due to some changes the area looks to be a bit tighter, as there has been an enormous tepee, erected to one side, for the summer, and also some of the bushes on the lower side of the site have grown. It has been agreed that children and public will fly kites away from the main flying site and will be marked out accordingly.
As mentioned in the original post, Betteshanger wishes to make this an annual event, and the site is still being developed, and they already start to plan the day around the kites and to promote the day. Please come along and support.
n.b. Bill is not sure he will be there and if so it will not be until early afternoon, if you wish to borrow any of the club's inflatables to use at this event, please contact Bill directly or let me know so the loan can be arranged.

Will not be attending as will be at the Shropshire festival this weekend...and a little bird tells me that I won't be the only KKF flyer there!!! I cannot expect members to support every event agreed, as people have lives outside of KKF. One of the reasons for putting out dates as early as possible such as for Betteshanger, is to give colleagues advance notice to put in their diaries. I always very beholding and grateful to those who support the event by coming along, and my endeavours to spread the word on KKF within Kent, especially to try to attract new members.

Can I suggest that you remove the above from the public forum? It is enough to put off new members if comment is being made about members choice of holiday dates and destinations!!! No-one else has received such a reply when going on their annual holidays and attending the local festivals? No matter how early you put events in a diary it won't remove the existing events they clash with or people's work commitments etc.
