Just bringing this to the fore,as it is almost upon us. A caterer approached me last Friday, asking if they could come to the weekend, They have since confirmed their attendance on Saturday and Sunday, there has been no objection from KCC. The usual ice cream seller has lost the concession which has been taken over a semi permanant coffee/tea stand, selling barista style coffee, along with crisp and a few odd pre packed biscuits and cakes, as well as Ice cream, but not the soft ice cream cones.
Campers are welcome from Friday around mid-day through to the Monday around mid-day.
the main gates will be closed by the park wardens at 8pm each nigh but we have been promised we will either have keys or the code for the locks before Friday.

Forecast is now looking reasonably good for the next few days, commencing with drying up later to-day maybe even a bit of sunshine, should be dry most of tomorrow, there is a chance of a passing shower and Sat/Sunday, dry temp 21c.
Obviously ground will be a bit damp once the rains have passed and into tomorrow.

Just read online a notice from KCC warning of 30mph speed restriction on Teston Lane from 10 August for up to 21 days. This affects either side of the bridge for bridge repair works due to an RTC. Shouldn't be a problem for us but probably worthwhile taking care speed wise. Mike

As usual, looks like light wind kites are the order of the weekend and the ever popular Mexican wave of activity!!!

Let's hope we get some clear skies over the weekend to see the predicted meteor show!!! You'll be lucky. A bright gibous moon is likely to mean only the brightest will be visible.
