Many thanks to all who supported this event. Despite being windless we managed to put on a good display of lights on the ground and up poles and aroused a fair bit of interest from the general public many who saw the lights whilst driving past and came over to see what we were up to. A lovely warm(ish) dry evening with excellent fish and chips to round it off. Mike

Just to let you know that we managed to collect £88.97 on Saturday from club members and the public. We were the first donation made to Children in Need at our Bank this year - they had to hunt the paying-in- slip for me.
Thankyou everyone for a great static display.

What about giving it another go at another site this year?

What about giving it another go at another site this year? Pick a site that is: a) accessible b) is likely to see a footfall from Joe Public c) is likely to have wind. So some coastal town is probably best. Maybe towards the west of the county?

Accessibility? Not sure lugging loads of gear from where we normally park over the sea wall is that easy. Unless you had a different spot in mind?

Parking in the road coming from/to Sandgate opposite the country park? Four steps down...

Was thinking more of the beach at Lydd Steve near the car park and loos... Little or no passing public after dark on the seafront at Lydd on Sea. Beach at Dymchurch might be ok visible from the Village car parking either at Martello 24 or on Sea Wall near British Legion building
